Ephesians 3:14-19 A prayer for the fullness of God

Ephesians 3:14-19 A prayer for the fullness of God

14 For this cause. What is this cause? The mystery which has been hidden through the ages, which is Christ in you and Christ in me the hope of glory. The cause is the gospel of Christ going forth to save the world from their sins and bring them into a relationship with God. It is God’s will that we inherit eternal life and that we serve Him in harmony with each other, in that love relationship. B. It is because of the cause of Christ that Paul bows his knees and in humility seeks the Father’s will who all God’s people are in submission to. The Lord Jesus while here on earth submitted to the Father and so should we.

15 The whole family, whether those who are in Heaven or those on earth, carry the name of the one who purchased us by His blood. To be a Christian, we must be Christlike.

16 Paul gets into the substance of the prayer, that we would be strengthened according to the riches of His kingdom with might by His Spirit in the inner man. This is the true power of God which goes beyond our power and leaves it behind at the starting gate. Relying on God’s strength and not our own will, makes us and fashions us to be overcomers. This is our spirit in the inner man being renewed day by day, moment by moment.

17 By faith we can move mountains, but without faith it is impossible to please God. With Christ dwelling in our hearts we have the substance of the faith supplied to us to bring Heaven into each situation we encounter. B. Our root stemming from our relationship with Christ is love. That is our root and our foundational purpose is to love all of humanity.

18 This is a common ground that we all understand together, what is the exceeding greatness of the love of Christ, and the unsearchable riches of His love towards us. We have nothing on this earth that can compare with it and nothing can match God’s love for us.

19 We must reach for and try to attain that we might fully know and understand the extent of God’s love, for the end that we might be filled with all the fullness of God.
