Ephesians 2 verse 1-8 Gods great gift
Ephesians 2:1-8 Gods great gift
To be quickened by God, is to be made alive and aware of the fact that you have been given purpose where there was no real purpose before. Now we find we are a part of something that is greater than just us. We were sold under sin, with no hope of anything other than continuing in those sins, we were cut off from God and were by nature the enemy of God. We were trespassing as we lived our life contrary to God and against His will. There were offenses against God that were building up and being stored up against us, for not serving Him, for in not serving Him we were opposing Him. There are people today who are trying to get to Heaven by their goodness and by their works, they also are trespassers, for they can’t earn that right. Heaven is granted to those who submit to the will of God, and receive it as the gift that it is. Praise the Lord that He quickened us and made us alive to the things of God. Now we are citizens of Heaven and can never be tried as trespassers.
There is a course and a destination this world is headed for, it is a wide path they travel. They are lost in sin and will continue in their sins unless God intervenes on their behalf. The prince of the power of the air is Satan, and instead of the leadership of the Holy Spirit leading, there is a spirit of darkness and evil, who opposes God and leads the world astray. Satan is in rebellion against God and he leads the world into rebellion along with him. They are disobedient to God.
The conversation of the lost is a different conversation from those who believe, just as the path that each walk is a different path. Our actions speak louder than our words, so our conversation of what we do and what we value in this life reveals who we are and who we serve. We were guilty in times past, for our nature was opposed to God and we lived our life to self without regard to God.
Thank God that He intervened on our behalf, thank God for His mercy towards us. His mercy is extended towards us because of His great love for us. For God so loved the world that He gave, and extended His mercy towards us. He rescued us from sin and delivered us from the power of the enemy over us. We are free because He set us free, we couldn’t do it on our own, so He did it for us.
God loved us even when we weren’t serving Him, when we were children of wrath just as the others. He knew us and He predestinated us to be His sons and heirs and part of the church of Jesus Christ. We have been made alive together with Christ. This is the grace of God working for us.
When the Father raised Jesus from the dead and seated Him at His right hand, all those who believe were also raised together with Him. That is the power of God for those who believe in Jesus. Spiritually we have already been made to sit in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.
In eternity future we will bask in His presence, surrounded by the love of God, with the glory of God all about us, His radiance overwhelming us, experiencing His love and kindness towards us. All this is made possible through His son Jesus Christ. The relationship we will have with God through His son will be the greatest relationship we have ever known.
Salvation is of God and not of man, even the faith we use to believe comes from God, we are begotten of God. Through faith we are begotten again by God, we are quickened and born anew and birthed into His kingdom. This gift is the greatest gift we or anyone could ever receive.
