Ephesians 1 verse 12-15 Known by our love

Ephesians 1:12-15 Known by our love

12 Those who first trusted in Christ were those who the Father gave to Jesus, those whom He chose as His disciples, and those who believed in Him as He walked the earth. Paul includes himself in this category, because He had a personal meeting with Him as he was on the road to Damascus. We as Christians, exist and consist and have our being, because of the sacrifice of Christ and of the Father. Our life is no longer our own for we are purchased with the blood of Christ. Our life is hidden in Him and we are to live our life daily for Him. That is God’s plan for us and His purpose for us. We glorify Him by living for Him.

13

Now Paul includes those who have come after Christ has risen, who heard the word of truth, the gospel of their salvation that was delivered by those who first trusted in Christ. We can definitely say we fit this category, for by the reading and preaching of the word, we in like manner received the gospel, which became our gospel to pass on to those who do not know Jesus. We are given this privilege, to share the gospel, just as it was once shared to us. It became our gospel, for it is given to us by faith and in faith we believe. We have our own testimony which we can use to proclaim why we first trusted in Christ. B. We are sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise. Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen. By faith we believe and by faith we are sealed. We have the substance of the kingdom of God within us, the Holy Spirit leading and guiding us into all truth. We have the person of the Godhead within us, and we are sealed by Him until the day of redemption. We have the royal seal of God upon us, we have been claimed by God to be His, for we are not our own, but are bought with a price and we are to glorify God in our body and in our spirit, which belong to God. C. God promised to put His Spirit within man, and now we have His promise living within us, and what He promised He will fulfill. One day we will be with Him throughout eternity.

14 He, the person of the Holy spirit is the earnest, or the payment in advance of our inheritance into the kingdom of God, in which we become the children of God. He gives us confidence to walk the Christian walk and to overcome against the world and against sin. He instructs us in wisdom and reveals unto us the knowledge of God and reveals Christ unto us. By Him we know the will of God for our lives and understand our purpose as Christians who walk by faith, not by sight. B. One day God will gather together all those who are His. Ephesians 1:10 We are His most precious possession, for we cost the most to obtain of all that God has. We are part of the family of God for we have the blood of Christ applied to our lives. We are of the same bloodlines, for we all have this in common. The blood of Christ. C. One day every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. God will be pleased on that day, but He will be worshiped throughout eternity and the praise of all who belong to Him will continually be lifted up to Him.

15 Paul tells them their reputation has proceed to all of the faith that they have towards God and the love they exhibit towards all the saints. That is how a Christian should be known. They will know us by our love.
